My first post

I think that I will use this as a journal for myself...I have so many thoughts that consume me and need to get out. So I will start with a word each time I blog....today's word: Pleasure. Not in the sexual sense...although that does work too! :) I just watched, for the second time, the movie EAT, PRAY, LOVE with Julia Roberts. It is a true story of Liz Gilbert's, a writer from New York. She needed to find herself again after a messy divorce. Well even though my marriage to my husband is going great, and I feel like the luckiest mama in the world, I too, want to find some "pleasure" in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love my day-to-day of taking care of my family and home, but this year I want to focus on ME too.
What gives me pleasure?
1. Taking care of my farm animals
2. Watching my kids so playing so innocently
3. Having a clean home
4. Snuggling
5. Traveling with my family
6. Taking pictures
7. Homemade gifts
8. a well manicured lawn
9. comfortable pajamas :)
10. eating without guilt
In this new year of 2011, I am going to focus on pleasure! I want to try to be content with laundry that always needs washing, dishes that will ALWAYS be piled in the sink, kids' rooms that may not always look like a magazine spread...but something rather from the show "Hoarders". I want to focus on what I should...
1.Spending time with my kids before they are grown
2. taking long baths while reading a favorite magazine
3. Eating dessert every night without guilt
4. learning to sit and watch the world go by from my front porch swing
5. Scrapbooking those memories that I have taken so many pictures of
6. and traveling more with my family

I hope all this is accomplish-able and that I find time to actually ENJOY them without guilt! That is MY New Year's Resolution....to just have PLEASURE!
